Apple Watch gets a new name, new CPU and a smaller price tag

Apple has just announced the Apple Watch Series 2, but it hasn’t abandoned the original Apple Watch.
Instead of being relegated to the past, the first-generation Apple Watch will remain on sale, repositioned as the junior model in the new Apple Watch range. It getting a new name too: Apple Watch Series 1.
It’s also getting an upgrade, with the same dual-core processor as the Apple Watch Series 2, which will make it 50% faster. Sadly the Series 1 won't have the waterproofing of the Series 2, so you won’t be able to take it swimming.
The Apple Watch Series 1 has a lowered price tag of £269/$269. Preorders start on Friday, September 9.
